Osinbajo seeks confirmation of Onnoghen as CJN
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday wrote the Senate, seeking the confirmation of Justice Walter Onnoghen as Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
The acting President also sent the name of Mr. Adeyinka Asekun from Ogun state to the Senate for confirmation as non-career Ambassador.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, read two separate letters of Osinbajo during yesterday’s plenary. The letters are dated February 7, this year.
In his letter on the CJN, Osinbajo said he requested for confirmation of Onnoghen in line with section 231 (1) of the country’s Constitution.
