Omoni Oboli Court orders Seizure of film-Okafor`s Law
Trouble seems not to be over for Omoni Oboli as “An order of interim injunction, restraining the first to third defendants, whether by themselves or their privies, from premiering the feature film “Okafor’s Law”, in Lagos or any part of Nigeria, pending the hearing of the motion on notice.
An Anton Piller order was issued by Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court in Lagos, for the seizure of the film and also, stopping it from being shown in any theatre or cinema house, pending the court’s decision.
A Canadian-based Nigerian writer Jude Idada had last year accused Oboli of stealing his idea for her latest movie.
Many fans and movie enthusiast were disappointed when they could not gain access to the venue of the premier of the film Okafor`s Law. However Omoni Oboli assured them that there was no cause for alarm as the movie was written 100% by her.
