Couple dies weeks after surviving Las Vegas shooting

Couple who survived Las Vegas shooting dies 15 days later from car crash near their home, in California.

Dennis and Lorraine Carver both 52 saw the shooting in Las Vegas where 59 people were killed and 527 were wounded. During the shooting Dennis jumped on top his wife to shield her from the bullets.

According to their daughter Brooke Carver her parents following the shooting had grown closer

‘After the shooting, they heard from all of the people they cared about most. They were so happy,’ Brooke, 20, their daughter told the paper.

‘The last two weeks of their lives were really just spent living in the moment.’

The pair died together, less than half a mile from their home.

In a statement the Riverside County Fire Department said their vehicle crashed into a metal gate outside their community.

It took firefighters almost an hour to put out the flames.
