Zimbabweans watch in disbelief as Mugabe fails to resign-video

Zimbabweans who had gathered around televisions to listen to the much anticipated speech address on t the state owned Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) were angered that the 93 year old president refused to resign.

According to Mugabe he is still in power and will preside over the party’s forth coming congress.

People gathered in a local bars  and jeered his comments.

He said “Giving the failings of the past and the anger it might have triggered in some quarters, it is quite understandable,”.

“We must learn to forgive and resolve contradictions,” he said

Mugabe said the country couldn’t be guided by bitterness and vengefulness, but instead Zimbabweans must learn to forgive and resolve their contradictions, whether real or perceived.

“Indeed, the current criticism raised against me by the command element and some of its members has a reason for a well-founded perception that the party was stretching or even failing,” Mugabe said.

 

Mugabe said the country couldn’t be guided by bitterness and vengefulness, but instead Zimbabweans must learn to forgive and resolve their contradictions, whether real or perceived.

Mugabe has been given up to midday Monday to resign or face impeachment.
