Paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius sentence increased to 13 years

Paralympic runner, Oscar pistorius has had his sentence increased to 13 years.

The South Africa Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein has set aside the judgement of the high court of six years sentence which was deemed too lenient  and substituted it with 13 years and five month.

According to the Judge Pistorius should have served 15 years but the court took into account the time he had already served.

The athlete fired shots through the bathroom door killing his girl friend in 2013 claiming that he believed he was in danger.

He was initially sentenced for culpable homicide but later replaced with murder by the Supreme Court of Appeal in 2016
